Gin river rises

Galle Ginganga Irrigation Engineering Office says that the water level of the river is currently rising due to the heavy rains falling in the Galle district and the upper catchment areas of Ginggaga due to the prevailing rainy weather conditions.

Today (07) at 06.00 in the afternoon, the water level of Ging river has risen to 03.20m according to Baddegama water gauge.

Even now, many parts of Galle district are receiving rain.

Several low-lying areas and side canals are inundated.
