Israel claims to have killed a Hezbollah commander as its military escalates assaults in Lebanon.

Published:

On Friday, the Israeli military announced that it had killed a commander in the Hezbollah Radwan Forces’ anti-tank missile unit in Meiss El Jabal, Lebanon, as Israel continues its ground operation in the southern region of the country.

In their statement, the Israeli military identified Araeb el Shoga as being responsible for multiple anti-tank missile assaults on the Ramot Naftali area in northern Israel.

The military also reported that Israeli forces had located and targeted a launcher prepared to fire into Israeli territory, as well as striking Hezbollah weapons storage facilities.

In addition, Israeli forces escalated their aerial attacks in the Lebanese capital late Thursday, resulting in at least 22 fatalities and injuring over 117 others, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.

The strikes hit the densely populated upper Basta neighborhood, marking the deadliest Israeli attack in central Beirut since the 34-day war in 2006, which resulted in the deaths of 1,100 people in Lebanon.
