Over the past year, 90% of Gaza’s children have experienced “food poverty,” according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS). In a post on X, the PRCS emphasized that “human suffering should never be normalized” and called for efforts to end the crisis.
The World Food Programme (WFP) reported on Friday that no food has reached northern Gaza since the start of October, placing one million people at risk of hunger. Earlier in the week, the WFP said that aid entering Gaza has dropped to its lowest level in months, halting food parcel distribution in October.
Regarding current military operations, Israel is conducting a large-scale operation in northern Gaza, just weeks after reports indicated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was considering a siege to force Hamas to release hostages. While Israel’s cabinet has not officially adopted the siege plan proposed by retired Gen. Giora Eiland, the ongoing operation aligns closely with his proposal, which was presented publicly and to the Israeli government.
