An announcement from the Indian High Commission regarding the meeting between the President of Sri Lanka and Jaishankar.

The Indian High Commission has announced that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake emphasized that Sri Lankan territory will never be used adversely to India’s security interests. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake mentioned this in the meeting with Mr. Jaishankar.
Mr. Jaishankar focused on the ethnic issue and the reconciliation process and emphasized India’s support for the aspirations of all communities, including the Tamil people, for equality, justice, respect, and peace while maintaining the unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Sri Lanka.
He has further mentioned that the full and effective implementation of the 13th amendment of the Constitution and the prompt holding of provincial council elections will facilitate these objectives.
Yesterday morning, Indian Foreign Minister S. Mr. Jaishankar arrived on the island for an official visit. He landed at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport in a special plane belonging to the Indian air force. The Minister then met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the President’s Office.
There, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India clarified the facts of India’s interest in supporting Sri Lanka’s tourism sector as well as investment, electricity and energy, and liquid milk industry, and has also assured that India will provide full support for Sri Lanka’s economic renaissance.
The security of India and Sri Lanka has also been discussed and the cooperation between the two countries for the stability and security of the region has also been discussed.
