Sri Lanka will face Pakistan in their first match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE tomorrow (03).

Sri Lanka has never reached the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup in the past eight editions. They recently displayed a dominant performance against Scotland in a warm-up match.

With a strong bowling unit, Sri Lanka could pose a significant threat to the top teams in this event. Sri Lanka will be aiming for a spot in the semi-finals of the Women’s World Cup, and a win against Pakistan would provide them with early momentum.

Pakistan has experienced heart-wrenching defeats in previous editions of the ICC event. While their chances of reaching the playoff stage are still low, the Asian team could potentially cause a few upsets in the tournament.

Pakistan struggled in the recent warm-up game against Bangladesh, losing by 23 runs. Omaima Sohail was the standout batter for Pakistan, scoring 33 runs in the losing effort. It remains to be seen if they can surprise Sri Lanka in the upcoming match.

In the pre-tournament warm-ups, Pakistan lost to Scotland by eight wickets and to Bangladesh by 23 runs, while Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 33 runs and Scotland by five wickets, respectively.

Sri Lanka has won their last three T20I matches against Pakistan, including the semi-final of the Asia Cup earlier this year.
