The Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs states that only around 14 official residences allocated to former ministers have been handed back so far.
A total of 41 official residences in Colombo and nearby areas were provided for the ministers of the previous government.
The ministry further states that they had notified these ministers to return the residences immediately after the presidential election concluded.
It also mentioned that legal action is planned against individuals who continue to occupy these official residences without handing them back.
