Hezbollah fighters engage in conflict with the Israeli military near a border town.

Hezbollah fighters clashed with the Israeli military near the border town of Naqoura in southern Lebanon, as reported by state media.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) announced on Wednesday that there was “an exchange of gunfire between the enemy and the resistance (Hezbollah) in the Al-Labbouneh area near Naqoura,” based on information from its correspondent in Tyre.

Hezbollah claimed that its forces successfully repelled an Israeli advance in the region around 5 a.m. local time, stating, “The Islamic Resistance Mujahideen targeted it with artillery shells and rockets, achieving direct hits that caused it to retreat.”

The Israeli military confirmed that “counter-terrorism activities” are ongoing in Lebanon but did not provide details on the specific incident.

On Tuesday, Israel’s military announced that it had expanded its operations into southwestern Lebanon. The ground incursion in southern Lebanon, which began on October 1, had previously concentrated on the eastern part of the border area.
