Professor Udayanga Hemapala, Secretary to the Ministry of Power, stated that a study has been initiated to revise the current pricing formula for electricity tariff adjustments.
He mentioned that this change is aimed at introducing a more affordable electricity tariff system for the public.
The new methodology is planned to be submitted to the Cabinet after being presented to the relevant Minister, who is the President.
It is also planned to submit the proposal to the Public Utilities Commission, which will be appointed by the new Parliament.
