The Election Commission has decided to disable 6 political parties.

It is stated that this decision has been taken due to the failure to resolve the issues that have arisen regarding the posts of secretaries.

According to that, it is stated that the Elover Democratic Front Party, the United People’s Freedom Alliance, the United Lanka Podujana Party, the United Lanka Mahasabha Party, the Lanka Peoples Party and the Sri Lanka Progressive party will not have the opportunity to contest the next general election.

The Election Commission mentioned that the representatives of several parties were called to resolve the problems but they did not succeed.
