The Iranian president alleges that Israel is disregarding the rules of warfare and accuses the U.S. and Europe of hypocrisy.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused Israel of carrying out indiscriminate attacks on women, children, and the elderly during its military operations and criticized the U.S. and Europe for backing what he described as a “barbaric government.”

Speaking in Tehran on Tuesday, Pezeshkian claimed that Israel was ignoring the rules of warfare and charged its allies with hypocrisy, pointing out that Iran frequently faces criticism regarding its human rights record.

“Europe and America have established a barbaric government here, and some who claim to champion human rights defend it. (Israel) disregards all human limits, easily bombing women, children, the elderly, and young people,” Pezeshkian stated.

“It’s quite ironic that they discuss human rights and ask us, ‘why do you execute a murderer?’ But no one questions these cowardly people, ‘why do you kill innocent women and children?’” he added.

Pezeshkian made these comments during a ceremony marking the return of ancient Persian clay tablets from the United States.
