U.S. warships and planes have attacked Houthi targets in Yemen.

The US military has reported launching strikes on the Iranian-backed Houthi group in Yemen, targeting 15 locations.

The Pentagon stated that it utilized aircraft and warships to carry out the attacks in order to safeguard freedom of navigation.

Multiple explosions were observed in some of Yemen’s major cities, including the capital Sanaa. Since November, the Houthis have attacked approximately 100 ships in the Red Sea, resulting in the sinking of two vessels in the crucial trade route valued at $1 trillion (£760 billion). The rebel group claims that these attacks are in retaliation for Israel’s military actions in Gaza.
